The Trump Administration issued orders to Attorney General William H Barr to target major 1%er motorcycle gangs in an effort to seize trademarks and patches used by the clubs. The Trump administration alleges that “These Motorcycle Gangs have participated in crimes such as murder, extortion, racketeering and a host of other organized crime. I’m directing the Attorney General to use whatever laws and the full weight of the United States Government to target the leadership of these so called 1%er motorcycle gangs.”
Until recently the Trump administration has been heavily engaged in taking down the street gang MS 13. A gang that the Trump administration is made up of mostly illegal criminal aliens. The pivot to focusing on Motorcycle Gangs also referred to as “1 %er Motorcycle Clubs” which consist of the so called Big 5 is now a top priority. The big 5 include the notorious Hells Angels, The Mongols Motorcycle Club which has been battling a government trial in which they are the test case in the trademark seizure. Other clubs include the Bandidos Motorcycle Club and Outlaws Motorcycle Club. Also targeted in the operation will be their so called support clubs in which authorities contend participate in illegal activities.
The operation is called “Operation Rumble.” The name apparently comes from the sound of a motorcycle engine. Rico, or Racketeering Corruption Organization Act will be the primary basis on which the government will target the infamous motorcycle gangs. Rico has been used to prosecute organized crime figures such as the five notable mafia families in New York City.
As you hopefully guessed by now, this article is a parody. My question is “How would you feel as a motorcycle club member waking up to a story like this?” Better yet, how would motorcycle club supporters as well as independent bikers feel about it?
Some of the above isn’t all that far fetched. The Mongols Motorcycle Clubs Patch Case is in the appeals process. The government already won a RICO conviction against the entire club and is collecting a huge fine against the club.
So what’s the point of the parody? It’s simple. If clubs cannot find a way to peace than the above parody could really come true. I’ve talked about it many times in the content put out how technology is something clubs can no longer ignore. Technology is aiding the government in taking down motorcycle clubs it considers “Motorcycle Clubs” down. For instance, social media has been the biggest aid to the government. Detectives don’t even have to leave the office to collect intelligence anymore. All they have to do is click a few buttons and they get all the information they need.
I always scratched my head going through Facebook and seeing members of motorcycle clubs sporting their colors. At least make these government idiots work for the intelligence. With the information they see on a club members profile they can get the club affiliation as well as a friends list. Again, without even having to leave the office.
What do most people call it? Oh yeah, Dry snitching and members don’t even realize they are doing it by having affiliation on Social Media. Now, I do know some clubs who have a prohibition on members showing affiliation on Social Media. But many don’t have that prohibition. Some will say the famous “Fuck The Government!” To them I say you don’t have enough money in the world to fight the United States Government. 98% is their conviction rate. Basically if the Feds come knocking on the door and dragging your ass to court, you have no choice but to get the best deal.
The government is now more than ever more vigilant in going after members of motorcycle clubs. Tex for example. They are openly charging members with firearms violations. Mind you, these members have a legal concealed carry permit. But the police are using vague laws to enable them to take down club members they see as gangs down. My question is where is all the protesting? Sure, we see a protest here and there. But how many bikers show up to the protest? Hardly any of them! Especially the clubs that are on the government’s radar. It’s a sad day when bikers who are supposed to stick together cannot even come together and protest motorcycle profiling. It’s not just club members being profiled mind you. It’s all different kinds of bikers being profiled. So yes, your ass could be in a jam one of these days.

Many people have heard of the “Bikie Laws” in Australia. Some of those exact laws in spirit are being used in law enforcement down in Texas right now. That is the scariest things that should have not only bikers up in arms, but all American citizens. Problem is, the message of what these types of laws are doing to law abiding citizens is not getting out. The message is only heard by a few. Why? Because the biker community is doing a piss poor job in the propaganda war.
What you mean bikers are doing a shitty job? Sure, we have many motorcycle rights organizations out there fighting for bikers rights. With that said I only see one side or tunnel vision path towards addressing the problem. A problem like motorcycle profiling or biker rights needs a multi prong approach. First off, you need to reach the hearts and minds of the actual people that put these lawmakers in office. If those who followed the WACO tragedy involving Abel Reyna would know an organized effort could lead to change. Reyna lost his bid for reelection by an enormous 20 points. This is because bikers and citizens worked hand in hand.

Biker were going out on the air making sure to expose the corruption of Abel Reyna, That’s the key word isn’t it? “Going on the air and speaking to the press.” Yeah, I know, clubs don’t like talking to the press. Well, clubs are setting themselves up for failure for not using the press to get their side of the story out. The only way you will reach those citizens who are active in the voting process is to get out there and talk to the press. Get in their living rooms and tell them what their government is doing to you. Do you want to know how an effective media strategy is? Just take a look at 1938 Germany and its propaganda machine. The use of media and propaganda turned millions of people on their fellow countryman. Take it a step further. Today the United States is more divided than ever. Why? Because each network has its political lean. They are professionals in putting out propaganda. Unfortunately so is law enforcement. Law enforcement has been able to use their side of a story in the press with devastating effects on motorcycle clubs. They are the ones getting into the living rooms of voters while the clubs sit on their peckers wondering why profiling is happening to them. They are also left wondering why the hell another so called biker would be supporting law enforcement efforts in the profiling scheme.
The one reason that I can give from the feedback I receive is many feel like the old ways and traditions don’t work. They see motorcycle clubs crying about constitutional rights when they themselves deny that to others. Sorry fellows, it just isn’t relevant anymore to do things such as telling others if they can or cannot have a club. You’re losing a ton of support from the biker community because of that. Support that clubs need in order to help get the word out on law enforcement practices. Instead of an ally that is much needed in the fight you’re driving them right into the arms of LEO.
Another approach to the problem of motorcycle club profiling is the need for clubs to police themselves. It’s the rouge members that are causing the problems for the club. Everyone knows that not every single member is doing illegal acts. But the citizens see it that way when news comes out this guy or that guy was a member of the club. Clubs will increasingly have two choices. They can either get rid of the baggage or face an increasingly hostile police force enabled by those citizens that vote. Again, if citizens do not know the clubs side of the story, how do you expect them to react?

Back to the article headline. It’s a very real possibility that scenario could happen in the near future. We already know the governments test case with the Mongols. Remember, they have all the money and resources they need. They don’t care if it takes 20 years to take a club down. They will persist in their mission. Long after some of today’s members are gone. The old saying “Stop playing checkers while the opponent plays chess” is very much true. Law enforcement is years and years ahead of motorcycle clubs. Motorcycle clubs are playing the 70 and 80s ball games while cops are playing 2019. Get smart!! Start playing their game in the present. Evolve and adjust to the times. If clubs don’t, I fear that in a few years it will get worse and worse.If it does, it will be square on the motorcycle clubs themselves.Clubs had a chance to reorganize and instead decided to keep old habits. That is not what’s going to win against the problem of motorcycle club profiling.

Get rid of the beef for one.Clubs fighting each is what they want. Not only does it pad their budgets, but also helps their propaganda war. Clubs are handing motorcycle profiling on a silver platter to the cops. When violence happens and it’s in the news people get sick to their stomachs. That reaction leads normal everyday citizens to encourage police to get rid of the violence. Which of course gives law enforcement a black and grey situation where they can just make shit up on someone. Oh by the way, do you see the ACLU or other civil rights organization getting involved in profiling? Hell no, because they don’t want to go support a club who is continuously in the headlines for extreme crimes. It’s really all common sense if you think about it.
Anyways, hopefully this opinion piece has whoever is reading it thinking. Motorcycle profiling is real. Getting the support from the entire biking community and civilians will help end it. That means though clubs have to do their part and start evolving with the times. Look at the long game instead of the short game. The problem with this artical is that if 1% clubs were to evolve in the way that the author suggests, they would cease to be 1% clubs in the traditional sense.
The 1% clubs do not infringe on any one’s rights unless you decide that you want to enter their world.
Example: you want to start a club and run a patch. You are entering their domain.
If you want to ride with you’re friends as a civilian, then you won’t have any problem.
M.C. clubs are all about brotherhood, respect, and territory. I doubt very much that they would ever give that up as the artical suggests.

I personally have tried to express my concerns to a 1% club. Oh they agree things need to change, but they are either set in their ways or lack the motivation to change it. The older members don’t like change and think the younger members as just kids who don’t have the experience and knowledge yet. Until it directly affects them, good luck! They need a strong progressive leader. I haven’t seen anyone that fits the bill. I mean come on, the hells angels in Arizona let the mongols move in! Something they swore would never happen! They really aren’t 1%ers anymore. They are more like submissive over grown babies that just like to complain! A bunch of washed up has beens.

I think the author has expressed a great opinion that many share. I don’t belong to a club or even ride for that matter. But I have a number of friends that partake in both. The reality of it is, these MCs are definitively gangs. You can PR it all you want, bit it doesn’t work. Other gangs have done the same “branding” trick they have used and failed(the current trial of rapper 69 and his Blood Set “company”). I was a participant for many years in a different type of “organization” for many years. The government refers to ALL of these organizations as Subversive Threat Groups. ALL OF THEM! Black, White, Hispanic, Motorcycle Club, Car Club, Dad Club, whatever the fuck you wanna call yourselves. It’s time for ALL groups to perhaps start adhering the the actual title and be just a bit more subversive, ya know, secretive about it. No more bandanas, colors, or other identification markers, except for in your respect club owned events and properties. But then all the members won’t get the fix they really desired when they joined. The notoriety, the power and all the other bullshit that comes with the “gang” lifestyle. Because when we book it all down that’s what it’s really all about ain’t it? Nobody is buying that bullshit anymore, especially those that matter, ie the government. For years organizations in pursuit of fighting anti biker legislation have tried to organize all bikers in an attempt to control elections, which by their very numbers would be relatively easy, without success. While all these groups have the same format, motorcycle safety, freedom of the road, amending mandatory laws directed toward motorcycles etc. etc. , they remain separate from each other. Being the current President, and only member, of ABATE of Southern Nevada, l speak from experience. With over 75,000 registered motorcycles in Clark County, the membership at it highest was 85. How do you conquer a corrupt government and attempt to change public opinion without support from the very people you are trying to help. Help yourselves riders. For now it’s the 1% ‘ers, next it will be the rest of us. The last of the true freedoms will soon be against the law and if you choose to sit around on your ass and allow it to happen you are the problem. Control, is the government’s idea of freedom, don’t allow it to happen, defend your ability to ride free.

I have rode for over 50 years! Rode in clubs, but not my cup of tea, my bikes and I are inseparable. I could care less about motorcycle clubs! I do not break the laws and expect police to treat me as such, how I ride. I find myself having to protect myself nowadays, something I never thought about years age. Getting trouble makers off the streets is fine with me. Just don’t restrict law-biding citizen’s rights to pacify for corrupt police actions! Our freedoms shall not be infringed upon!

This article should be a wake up call for bikers especially the 1% clubs. If American bikers don’t want to end up like those in Oz, they need to evolve. The media is used against them by the government and cops and the mc point of view is hardly ever heard because they don’t bother speaking out. In my opinion, every time a negative story about bikers comes out in the media, the clubs need to ask to get their side of the story out there too. The media won’t deny them this because it’s “good tv”. Good PR with the media and the public is essential if clubs want to continue to enjoy their freedoms. Way I see it they may not want to succeeded in taking patches, clubhouses and all club affiliations out of service. Seems to me as lazy as fucking cops are theyd want the clubs flying patches/colors, showing up everyweek to their mandatory meeting, and hanging out with the same people. Without all of that, imagine the mayhem the club’s could cause being “undercover” may be good to move within the masses for a bit.

However, the author is clear that this could happen and quite frankly will happen soon. You see, you have these clubs going around threatening innocent people because they don’t like the fact the these mom and pop clubs are wearing patches. That is clearly gang thinking. I’m a medical retired member of one of the top clubs in the world .and I see this everyday. I was stopped going to the store the other day not on a bike ,not flying any patch work of any kind but when they ran my name it through up a red flag as a gang member and I was detained for 4 hours while they ran me through all kind of shit with questions about on going cases.hell I havent ridden in10 years.

If its ok to bust these organizations leadership and call them an entity… then if a priest touches a kid ..the pope goes on trial and they confinscate all the bibles and roserys.. if a bad cop(and theres lots) gets busted then the chief goes to jail and they take all thier badges and guns.. let get frickin real.. they need to stop fucking with our rights as citizens.. i dont like where clubs have gone…it actually sickens me to think that one of your own members will kill you for greed.. ive been a motorcycle owner since 1974. I have hung with clubs and always maintained a lonewolf status.. they do need to wake up and put criminal activity out of the clubs… lets get the party back on…..the clubs are ruining it for them selves ..and giving that bitch a few post behind me the ammo the need..

Scew anyone who tries to infringe on someone’s right to to choose and join a club of that they want to belong to. The Government is afraid of Americans gathering together in large masses, because they know that their are a lot more of us than them. I see the bike clubs here come together here to support bikers that have been in accidents and have no insurance, I see them go to them goto the same church, and I’ve seen them get into fights that make the police and sheriff’s hide in their offices. I saw in a documentary that on average it costs the States one million dollars a year to maintain one block at the prison, the U.S. has more people in prison than Russia, and China combined. Take that into perspective: Russia is 3 times the size of the U.S., and China has 11 billion citizens. We have more people in prison that than the population of New York City, and Los Angeles combined. Instead of declaring war on drugs in the U.S., make them legal and charge sales tax on them, and declare war on the countries and cartels that supply these opiads, cocaine, herione,and such. And it’s time the U.S. outlawed lobbyists, and regulated the cost of medications like Canada, and the UK.
Lets leave the bikers alone, before the citizens of this country start enforcing the original laws of the constitution.

Here in Australia the club’s are screwed by this political dictatorship, it’s sad to see when you grow up in the bikers world. If all club’s would stand together demanding our wrights and fuck off the idiots that give everyone a bad name maybe then we may see change. The communities in most country towns support the local club’s, but the political parties have succeeded. All stand together like the real men were supposed to be and be heard and seen as brother’s in arms. It can only happen when all club’s come together world wide for a better tomorrow.WE NEED CHANGE YESTERDAY!!!!! WE DON’T WANT EXTINCTION…..

Get real! No biker is going to jail for riding a Harley (I own 2 and never even got a ticket) or even joining a club so long as the members obey the law. It’s the meth dealing, illegal gun running, pimping, bike steeling gang members that belong in prison! Do you even recall why biker gangs started calling themselves 1%? It was the outlaw’s (i.e. criminal bikers) response to a certain biker’s public statement that “99% of bikers are good law abiding citizens”. To call themselves a 1%r is a declaration that they are NOT good law abiding citizens. Should we give violent criminals a pass just because they ride HDs instead of Yamahas? Then I guess all members of MS13 should use some of their drug money to buy a Harley; that should legitimize everything they do and and give them immunity from prosecution, right? It’s a sad thing when riders look up to and imitate scumbag criminals! Almost makes me want to sell my Harley’s and get a couple Victory Hammers in protest! The Hell’s Angel wanabes have even less shame than they do common sense!

There are many goverment officials that ate riders. But it makes me pissed if that federal giverment has nothing else better todo then to worry about the bikers that help familys that dont have a home. Help kids with no home no food no clothes. People with terminal disease. They raise the money for many charities…. The government needs to get rid of all the illegal ailiens the gang ms 13 out of the country and the drug cartel out of the country. Leave the bikers alone. Taking patches or trademarks, that does no good, they mean alot to them but family and brotherhood means more. Rethink this. This will not change anything! Removing the flag from government documents, military, etc. Still will not change anything. Its what’s in the heart that matters. Too much control by government is sucking the life of taxpayers.

To the substance of the article, people will say you’re arguing to change the traditions of 1%ers. And you are. And they should. For the most part, if you don’t make the cops pay attention to you, they won’t. Make them do their job and they’re gonna do it.
Stay out of the headlines. Simple.

JOHN: I so glad that YOU decided that biker rights stopped. Well, I’m about to turn 70 years old, and I’ve been on both sides of the fence. That is I was a federal prosector left that post and became defense attorney who has represented bikers, 1%ers and 99%ers, for years. I’ll tell you this, the “policing bodies” have gotten way off task with some of their antics, frankly in my opinion they have lost their way. Warrantless searches, wire taps, and going after cuts because an organization was alleged to be “criminal.” Well, the COURTS decided that for us, an organization can’t be. How about WACO? 180+ bikers arrested, when in fact all they wanted was to go after the national leaders of the Bandidos. Well, they didn’t need WACO for that, they top three weren’t even there. My message to my old colleagues – DO YOUR JOB – WITHIN THE LAW – FOLLOW THE RULES!!

Let me paraphrase this article, us cops are ignorant, the only thing that makes a good detective is a snitch and we don’t have any of those so we need you guys to come out in the public eye so we can try to count how many there is and track where you are from. BTW, remember while you pass judgement on others for what they choose to do, Marijuana is a Schedule 1 Narcotic with no medicinal value and has never been anything else.
