A Carrollton, Kentucky, man was killed Friday evening in Indiana when his Harley-Davidson motorcycle struck an oncoming vehicle.

Justin Blankenship, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene about 8 p.m., the Indiana State Police said. The crash occurred on a two-lane road in Madison, Indiana, about an hour northeast of Louisville.

Indiana State Police said it appeared Blankenship wasn’t wearing a helmet.

Blankenship was traveling northbound on Lanier Drive near Clifty Drive when he crossed the center line and struck an oncoming Chevrolet Cobalt head-on. Police said it’s unclear why Blankenship left his lane of travel.

Toxicology results on both drivers are pending.

The driver of the Cobalt suffered minor injuries.
