Motorcycle clubs are no longer what they used to be, get that idea out of your head, it’s just not traditional anymore. We as bikers are in a new era of what it’s acceptable in the MC Scene. Mail order and pop-up clubs, are the new terms of the day. Why? Because the traditional route of joining a motorcycle club is out the door. There has been a surge in motorcycle clubs, a surge mostly due to individuals thinking. The thinking on protocol has changed in part, because of the Internet. Information, including opinions, is now able to be distributed worldwide with a click of a mouse.
Too much wrong information
Here’s the problem, people have put out so much false information, you have weak minded individuals following in lock step. This is evident in the most popular argument of the day, “the constitution says I can start a club.” My god if I had a dollar for every time I hear that argument, I would be a very wealthy man. This argument in particular, demonstrates how one click of a mouse, can set off a way of thinking. The problem with this type of thinking, is the argument is now nationwide, something which has perpetrated the demise of a once beloved scene.
On my show Motorcycle Madhouse, I am often asked, “Why are you not with a motorcycle club anymore?” My answer is simple, “I won’t be apart of any of this modern day bullshit!” The motorcycle club scene, as well as bikers, have changed too much for me. I’ve been known by many as someone who doesn’t like “fake people.” Many of these clubs are nothing but a bunch of fakes. Those fake people by the way, are a disgrace on the scene. When I say scene, I mean both motorcycle club scene and independent scene, sad state of affairs. I would’ve never envisioned back in the early 90’s, the scene we see today. The downward spiral of how we used to carry ourselves, compared to now, is something of a freak occurrence.
The PC Biker Freakout
My God, I wrote a piece on women and property patches the other day, the PC freaks that came out of the woodwork was mind boggling. I’m serious, these people’s takes on the subject, was way out of the norm. These people were actually pissed off hearing how women were treated in the old days. I heard “ my wife or girlfriend is my equal, you’re nothing but a dinosaur,” over and over again. Sad state of affairs, who would’ve thought PC bikers were the in thing?
Well, that PC thinking, has now found its way into the MC Scene. It’s infiltrated the scene worse than a bunch of cops. Shit, even cops are popping up clubs. What’s worse, people who supposedly call themselves a club, affiliate themselves with these cop clubs. What in the fuck is that? Where is the line we used to have between cops and bikers? What I can tell you, people have used these cop clubs to skirt tradition. Instead of prospecting for an already established club, these people start their own, and run to the cop clubs for protection. Basically, they use them as a shield, from other established clubs.
Personally, any clubs just popping up and running to a bunch of cops, are nothing more than a bunch of pussies. Clubs like these new ones, have no self pride, plain and simple. These so-called clubs don’t want to earn their place within the traditional scene, instead, they want it given to them. Again, what the fuck is that? When I prospected for the Black Pistons, it was the best feeling in the world, when I received my patch. From my viewpoint, why wouldn’t everyone want that feeling of accomplishment? Well, the wake up call hits me, this isn’t the scene I came into anymore. It’s that fact why I’m done with club life. Besides, I’m older now and have many other priorities in my life. Priorities were something I really didn’t have, when I was younger. Just wait you new-jacks, you will see what I’m talking about, when you reach my age.

I so totally agree about how things are now compared to when I first started and earnd my first patch in the early 70s. I say my first patch cause I was honored when asked to step up to the diamond club ( from an affiliate club). I see it all over as you stated just buy a few patches on ebay and sew them on. And the worst part of that is that the big boys let it go and make them support clubs. If the now a day so called bikers knew what we went thru to get where we did ,the majority couldn’t be hang arounds

I ride solo, but it sounds to me like clubs are getting better. Attitudes like this are part of the reason young people aren’t buying motorcycles.

Nobody cares about your rants I’m old enough to have grown up around the old school and young enough to watch them eat themselves alive… instead of FTW… FYourself.
Try to do something better for someone other than yourself, that’s what is killing you all off in the first place. Said you were brothers until you stabbed yourselves in the back too many times and no one was left standing loyal enough to count on.

1st off Motorcycle M/C’s aren’t just for ” gatherings or a Sunday ride like H.O.G. so for anyone who has to ask what it’s about you don’t belong hanging out much less prospecting for a real M/C and the life style is not for “Johnny Come Lately” types either. M/C’s are for the Members who have shown they belong so to the author of this little puff piece do yourself a favor and don’t try to compare wannabes with those who are in the real world and have earned their place in the biker world.

Thing’s have changed so much over the year’s, there’s no such thing as earning your cut anymore. I was President of my own club and it was going very well with only 9 members. Then a club in the area started patching everybody and everyone who wanted to join a MC over a RC. My club was a RC and some of my members left the RC and joined up with the MC. We were down to 3 members and worked overtime to get new members, but no one wanted to be in a RC, I was left to close the RC. Too this day, I can’t get the RC out of me, I started the RC and it was my baby, it’s been 6 year’s since the RC folded and it’s still in my blood. I want so much to bring the RC back to life, I’m just not willing to go through all the bullshit I went through too get the club started, the other thing is, loyalty, I thought we had some of the best members any club would want, they weren’t, they were turn coat’s wanting to be better then a RC and joined a MC, and those so called brothers who joined the MC, all ended up being tossed from the MC they joined when a new president was made. I’m an ol’school biker who believes in the ol’school ways, loyalty, honor an respect, stand by your brothers no matter what. That’s all gone now, everyone is trusting anyone and look what’s happening, club’s numbers are on the rise and the, loyalty, respect an honor are forgotten.

I’m a product of the biker scene born bred and fed on the scene and it’s nothing like it used to be especially in Dallas all these biker clubs allow their club members to jump from Club to Club no prospecting at all

I hate this I deserve everything world. To be the army u have to complete basic training to start a new job u have to complete probation unless its an unskilled job like these meliinials like. To be in a club u have to start out as the bitch which is a prospect. You have to earn your respect with time blood sweat and tears get use to it or get the fuck out its not for everyone and if u can’t handle it a true biker will see it and you will wish I never faked it. The real bikers need to handle this epidemic and bring it back to the 80’s and 90’s. We’re year equalled respect and if u got out of line u got put back in the back of line hiding in the crowd like it never happened

As a prospect for the most hated club in the world, I understand what you are saying, I was raised around old school clubs, saw how hard it was, and how bad it can get, also saw the good times, joined the army right out of highschool and lost touch with them, some are gone, some are still around but should probably be living in a old folks home as they never changed with the times. I respect the old school ways, o have been prospecting for 6 months, not that I am keeping track, my answer is still, NOT LONG ENOUGH, things will never be how it was.

Very well said. I totally agree I’ve run around the clubs for years as I’m almost 60 I even joined a pop up women’s club and that was a huge joke .these guys pop up clubs everywhere and don’t wanna proby and put in the time & effort to earn their patch definitely of joke. Pussies

even the old clubs aren’t the same anymore. I still ride with a club but it isn’t the same anymore. im 78.joind my first club in 1964 so I consider myself old school and will stay that wayLTR RTL.

If you a quarter for everytime somebody said that, who are you talking too, the local HOG Chapter? I am the secretary/treasurer of our club and an original member. I can agree and disgree with this post. We are and LE/MC. We as a club are all about helping our community ala fund raising, dontations, any way to help a cause. We are also a legitimate none for profet entity. Are the flake clubs out there? Way to many clubs? Yes. Are we considered fake that is up to the ones who think they own the roads and have had a club since jesus walked the earth. I read all about the violence involved. I look at that and laugh cause, its pathetic at some of the ages of riders that do that. We’re they not hugged as kids?? I love our club because of what we do, help others in need and we are praised. God bless u all and ride safe.

The military clubs “popping up” today are combat veterans the way most of the biggest traditional clubs founders were but just like the advancement in tech they don’t want to go down the dirty road of the old school MCs and go from Patriotism to domestic terrorists or do time for a bunch of waffling liars and posers that often run those clubs until they themselves get in over there head. No modern patriot wants to be a gangster only alternative is to look for a patriot club where the rights we nearly died for are not forsaken so for a cat who has never out their life on the line for something that matters you would never understand how stupid and archaic you sound acting like you did something by prospecting when many of us have spent years defending your right to be critical of the modern mentality. The dirtbag clubs are played out and patriots are sick of any gang or pretend club of thugs pushing anyone around or flexing when it comes down to it the body stackers of today and modern combat era won’t suffer their bullshit or get treated like punks as a prospect that’s for the weak. I decided not to prospect and start the Santans Jokers in 98 and 1999 I started patching my guys. Albuquerque New Mexico. At that time there was all kinds of new clubs and ended up going against the Bandidos. Now all I see is a new patch every time I turn around seems like every since the Sons of Anarchy came out everybody and their dog wants to be biker. They don’t know what it’s like to really takes to start a New MC clubs what its like going up against one percenter clubs and earn the right to have that cut.
