A second member of the Hells Angels motorcycle club faces charges stemming from a strip-club altercation

PROVIDENCE — A second member of the Hells Angels motorcycle club faces charges stemming from a strip-club altercation, the police said.

Nicholas Lourenco, 29, turned himself in Tuesday on charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct from the incident Feb. 29 at the Cadillac Lounge strip club on Charles Street, police said.

After a review of surveillance footage from the incident, police decided to charge Lourenco, Maj. David Lapatin said. Lourenco punched a man who worked at the strip club, causing a facial injury, Lapatin said.

Lapatin described the assault as unprovoked.

Joseph Lancia, president of the Rhode Island chapter of the Hells Angels, also faces charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct from the incident. Police said he punched a strip club worker in the face, knocking him to the ground just outside the club. The victim appeared to be unconscious, the police said.

Although the victim did not want to pursue a formal complaint against Lancia when he regained consciousness, police said they witnessed Lancia punch him, so he was arrested and charged.

Lancia, who lives in Smithfield, is being held as a violator of bail in an earlier case in which he’s accused of firing a gun at a former Hells Angels prospect outside the Messer Street clubhouse. He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
