Durham Regional Police says there were no major incidents during last month’s Hells Angels Motorcycle Club Canada Run on the July 22-24 weekend that saw about 600 motorcyclists in the area of Brooklin, north of Whitby.
Instead, there were 42 Highway Traffic Act (HTA) charges, four licence plates and five helmets seized, and four towed vehicles deemed unsafe for the road
Police say a total of 179 vehicles were processed through the checkpoints they had set up with about a 40% HTA charge rate.
The public placed minimal calls, “which can be attributed to the robust, professional joint police response,” and “more club members bused to and from the Brooklin Chapter location … with no formal large motorcycle run through the region.”
