A former Mongols bikie has revealed how he fought back from the brink of death after being shot in broad daylight in Melbourne.
Suleiman “Sam” Abdulrahim, 32, was ambushed just before midday on June 25 while leaving his cousin’s funeral at Fawkner cemetery.
On Wednesday, Abdulrahim was interviewed by Sam Newman on his podcast You Cannot Be Serious, and said he initially thought he was being pranked when he saw a gunman.
“I looked and I just seen something pointed at me. I go, ‘Nah, surely this is a joke’,” he told the podcast.
“Then, I just remember getting pumped with bullets. It felt like just punches, copping punches to the ribs.”
After the shooting, Abdulrahim, who is nicknamed “The Punisher”, drove himself to Fawkner police station.
He told Newman he was trying to drive to hospital and had no idea he had stopped at the station, before he said he died and was revived by paramedics twice.
Abdulrahim claims he still does not know why he was shot and insists it has nothing to do with his former club.
