PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (WFLA) — Two members of a motorcycle club were arrested on Sunday on various charges, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Charlotte County deputies, along with Punta Gorda police officers, responded to a road rage shooting near the Gilchrist Bridge.
During the investigation, deputies found that multiple motorcycles were believed to have been involved in the road rage incident.
According to CCSO, bikes matching the descriptions of those allegedly used in the shooting were identified at a Shell Gas Station in Punta Gorda.
When they arrived at the gas station, deputies located and detained the motorcyclists, who were members of the Phantoms Motorcycle Club.
The Phantoms Motorcycle Club is a group of “one percenters” who perceive themselves as part of the one percent that does not fall within the confines of the law.
