Jonathan Root spoke in front of the US House of Representatives on Tuesday, informing the House about the extreme “retaliatory” taxes the EU charged the company.
The American motorcycle brand does most of its business in the United States, selling over 90,000 motorcycles last year.
However, Root said that rising EU taxes severely limit its overseas opportunities.
“The US has long been, and remains, the key market for heavyweight motorcycles,” Root began his prepared statement.
“The US remains our largest workforce, our largest country of production, and accounts for most of Harley-Davidson’s global sales.
