Amelia Kolpa, seven, was diagnosed with a rare neuroblastoma in her stomach and has been in and out of hospital since she was two.

Despite beating the cancer it returned and she is now receiving palliative care.

To mark her eighth birthday next month, her family set themselves a challenge to break the UK record for getting the most greeting cards.

Mum Katarzyna Bartczak initially aimed for 8,000 cards to secure the record.
