Lane is the least of six Pagan Motorcycle Club members who were charged in the 2022 shooting death of Henry Silver in the Marion County community of Carolina. Silver was targeted after the club learned he was romantically involved with the girlfriend of member John Wole who has been convicted of first degree murder.

Lane was charged in 2024 after testimony during the Wolfe trial implicated him.

It was confirmed that Lane held a leadership position in the club and was in contact with other Pagan members around the time of the murder. But, his cellphone location did not put him near the murder scene.

The ruling means Lane could be back in court if the charges are refiled, he could be offered a plea deal, or the charges could be dismissed.
