CHICAGO — A little snowfall — well, maybe more than a little — wasn’t going to keep at least several dozen bikers away Sunday from riding in the 48th annual Chicagoland Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade, all to make sure children have toys for the holidays.
With Santa Claus leading the pack, the parade kicked off at 9:30 a.m. on the South Side, at Dan Ryan Woods (83rd and Western). The parade then continued north on Western Avenue before concluding on the North Side near Lane Tech High School.
Bikers started lining up as early as about 6 a.m. Sunday. Some say they’re all-weather riders, so riding through a winter wonderland is no big deal.
