With more than 1,000 toys donated and $1,700 spent last week, a Carson City motorcycle club met Sunday morning to prepare and distribute toys and gifts to local organizations and families in need during the Christmas holiday.
A tradition among local motorcycle clubs over the past 41 years, it was the first year for the Lords of Iron motorcycle club, which collected more than 1,000 toys and raised $1,700 as part of the annual capital city Toy Run for local children.
The Sunday distribution was at Carson Custom Cycles, where members of the motorcycle club bagged and distributed toys and other gifts to the Northern Nevada Dream Center, Boys and Girls Club, Nation’s Finest and Advocates to End Domestic Violence.
