Harley-Davidson has filed patent for 3 new motorcycles namely – 1250 Pan America (Adventure Tourer), 1250 Custom (flat-track based cruiser) and an unnamed naked street fighter with EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) – the apex agency responsible for managing EU trademark and the registered Community design. The brand is planning to launch these motorcycles by 2020 under the strategy called ‘More Roads to Harley-Davidson’ and it has also announced to launch 100 new motorcycles by 2027.
The Milwaukee based brand will be coming out with an adventure tourer for the first time and it has already set the internet abuzz. The other two motorcycles are also unique in terms of design and styling. The drawings submitted to the agency sports saree guard that point towards the possibility of an India launch. Every two-wheeler manufacturer is aware of the fact that India is the world’s largest two-wheeler market and Harley-Davidson would also wish to leverage it. The brand already manufactures Street 500 and Street 750 in India and its almost entire product line-up is available for the Indian buyers.

The above-mentioned information substantiates the speculation that Harley-Davidson is eyeing the Asian market including India for its upcoming motorcycles. Harley-Davidson is trying to attract young customers and the announcement of launching 100 new motorcycles could be a move towards ramping up its entire product line-up. The motorcycle giant has also launched LiveWire – an all-electric motorcycle and showcased few electric two-wheeler prototypes as well.
It will be interesting to witness how a legendary motorcycle manufacturer embraces the future and if the brand’s strategy unfolds in its favour – wrecking sales charts and adding young buyers.

Those riders who arrived early were treated to extra fun. The Freedom House on Williamson Street was the site of a Friday night party, hosted by ABATE and the WBBA. There were more than a few kegs of beer tapped that night, while the Mickey Larsen Band entertained the crowd of clubs and independents. Robert “Bob Bitchin” Lipkin was there from California. The editor of several motorcycle magazines at the time, Bitchin’ based his first novel on this helmet rally. “A Brotherhood of Outlaws,” by Robert Lipkin, copyright 1979 by Bentree House Publishing. He wrote about the rally, and even included Dick Smith and Tony Sanfelipo in the book, although their names were changed to fictitious characters. Although fiction, Bitchin’s description of the party were accurate. The street was barricaded for motorcycle traffic only. The Freedom House was a sea of denim and leather, music drifting out of the club, accompanied by a familiar pungent odor, dancers flowing out into the street in their ritual tribute to freedom. […]
