EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – An Evansville man is facing multiple charges after police said he fired shots at Grim Reaper Motorcycle Club on East Diamond Ave.
According to the Evansville Police Department, 47-year-old Cale Winternheimer tried to ignite fire outside the club after being denied entry on Wednesday night.
Police said Winternheimer then drove a vehicle into the club, jumped out, and started firing a gun.
The report said people inside used pool cues to keep the shooter at bay until police arrived.
Sgt. Jason Cullum said, “ At this point, he has not spoken with investigators so we don’t know why he showed up there yesterday, what his motive was, or if he had any prior contact with anybody inside the club.”
Winternheimer is currently in the hospital.
Once released, he will be charged with criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, arson, and criminal mischief.
