FAIRMONT – Jason “Jay Bird” Edward Harris, 48, of Fairmont, is being held on a $1,000,012 bond on one count each of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Harris was one of four men who carried out a pre-planned attack on a New York man on Aug. 3 outside of the BFS Foods convenience store in White Hall.

During the fight, the attackers struck Kenneth Murphy of Hilton, N.Y. with a baseball bat, as well as cut and stabbed Murphy with a knife.

“This is based upon a police investigation which is supported by physical evidence, surveillance video, witness statements, and personal observations,” states the complaint.

Harris, a member of the Pagans Motorcycle Club, was arrested Friday night in Fairmont after staff with the U.S. Marshals Service in Clarksburg received a confidential tip. Witnesses at the scene the day of the attack said Murphy was wearing a Hell’s Angels Motorcycle Club jacket.

Murphy was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown where he was placed in a medically-induced coma for treatment, according to the criminal complaint.

The U.S. Marshals Service began assisting the White Hall Police Department in locating Harris shortly after the incident occurred. Early Friday night, authorities received information that led investigators to a friend of Harris’ on Oregon Avenue in Fairmont.

Harris’ arrest is the third in the Aug. 3 melee.

The Hells Angels Motorcycle Club and seven members have failed to have the attempt to seize three of their clubhouses thrown out of court.

Along with Harris, White Hall Police charged James Cody Biggie, 37, of 202 Skyline Dr., of Rivesville, and Bruce Evan Davis, 53, of 135 Pine Ln., of Fairmont, with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit a felony.

According to the original criminal complaint, Biggie and Davis, along with Harris and a fourth man, carried out what police called “a pre-planned physical confrontation with several male individuals in the parking lot of the BFS Foods in White Hall.”

The incident has been described as a fight between the Hells Angels and Pagan motorcycle clubs. At 1:50 p.m. on Aug. 3., a Monongalia Emergency Centralized Communication Agency 911 report stated there was “a fight/stabbing in Fairmont between Hell’s Angels club and Pagan’s Motorcycle Club, and that one of the Hells Angels members was being transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital.”

Since their arrests, Davis and Biggie have appeared in court where their attorneys asked that their bail be reduced.

On Aug. 12 at his preliminary hearing, Davis’ bail was reduced from $750,00 to $450,000.

Then, on Aug. 13 at his preliminary hearing before Marion County Magistrate Todd Rundle, Biggie’s bail was reduced from $1,030,000 to $500,000. Biggie, who attended, waived the preliminary hearing and his case is now headed to Marion County Circuit Court.

Judge’s order has finally settled the loose ends left from a controversial police crackdown that all but dismantled the Outlaws biker gang in Ontario

Police are still searching for the fourth suspect in the case. That suspect’s name has not been released.

If found guilty of attempted murder, Harris could face 15 years in prison.

  2. That’s THE BIG RED MACHINE to you and everyone.

You, Tiege, obviously have a bone to pick with HA. Your panties are all bunched up over something. Get over it. You’re obviously angry… all those capital letters and the hostility. But you aren’t specific regarding your beef with HA.

    So, if you’re brave enough, I have the same abilities as my friend, a psychologist, just a much higher I.Q. and no license. That’s a lot of anger to hold onto. Much healthier you let it go;

I’ll give you and everyone else this one free… has to do with holding on to hate or bad feelings… bad relationships… whatever is negative and holding bad thoughts in your head….give it a try.

“never let anyone live in your brain rent free’

This is an example of what i have stated previously here. Come on. 1:50 p.m. in the afternoon on the side of a grocery store? Surveillance, witnesses up the ass, who knows how many people with cellphones. We never would have considered doing anything that dumb in the middle of the day in front of now.cellphones everywhere.,. Evidently none of you learned anything from us. That remark is not specifically directed toward HA. Simple facts I’m reading in coverage on the subject.

  3. Coincidence?
Remember the bar “The Last Stop” on East side of Fairmont? Right beside the Dairy Queen Corner.

The Pagans refused to allow — the 100 bikers enter the bar?

The Pagan President was -Ross Sine- a few Pagans against the 100 or so other motorcycle clubs. There was shooting and stabbing.

What’s odd it happened on a Saturday- “right next to the Dairy Queen.” Kids – families at the dairy Queen a feet away from the biker stabbing and shooting. At the bar.
On Aug 3rd the fight between the Hell’s Angels and Pagans close to the Dairy Queen again. I heard the story of why the large amount of bikers rolled in on the Pagans–

when you send one of your brothers being (solo) in alone into another motorcycle club( bar) (territory) to Start a war shooting out there bar Windows fighting.

While the boss gives the orders.
. It was said a few Hell’s Angels was in the 100 and some bikers. I don’t believe this to be true.

This was in 2005-2006. Jaybird was the one sent solo to the bar. Though Jay wasn’t in the last stop when the bikers rolled in.
This transpired on “Saturday – it was around 1:30 -2 PM. ” Right beside the dairy Queen Corner. Same as what transpired on Aug 3rd.
One Pagan had brain damage- but survived. One from the other motorcycle club- a nurse said died.

  4. There were allegedly 100 or so bikers coming at the bar from outside and nobody noticed anything? And only one guy got busted? Something sounds and smells completely wrong with this whole thing.

  5. Yep your right! The snich everyone found out later- he’s no longer a Pagan! After that many Pagans went down! One wore a wire- on his brother in prison. Now he’s getting life for murder. So much for —–

  6. A state trooper at the gas station saw everything. He called the cops. The news media was every were. The bikers didn’t get into the bar- the fight was outside. The Pagans refused to let the bikers in.

When the cops arrived the bikers took off. There was 5 Pagans.

There was no arrest. No one was busted. ..

As I remarked there was a (16) Pagan who snitched. There wasn’t many Pagans in this area at that time.
