A commercial-grade pill press capable of punching out 8000 MDMA tablets an hour has been seized in drugs raids in Perth.

In recent weeks, organised crime detectives have executed a number of search warrants targeting outlaw motorcycle gangs and their associates, seizing a huge array of drugs, guns and other weapons, cash and stolen property.

The cache of seized goods was on display – under heavy guard – at the WA Police Academy on Tuesday.

One of the items found was a commercial-grade pill press, capable of producing about 8000 pills an hour.

Police allege it was being used to make MDMA tablets.

It was found in a sea container at the back of a residential property in Jandakot.

In raids across Leederville, Joondanna, Gnangara, Landsdale and Morley, police also seized $20 million worth of methamphetamine, plus heroin, cocaine, hydroponic cannabis plants, Fantasy, and vials of anabolic steroids.

At a property in Alkimos, detectives allegedly found $1.2 million in cash, as well as drugs.

“If you are involved in transporting drugs or facilitating those that do, though you might not think that you’re part of the target list, you are in fact going to be uncovered,” State Crime Assistant Commissioner Brad Royce said.

“We’re working with banks and other institutions and we will identify you and we will act on that.”

Other items seized during the raids include a semi-automatic shotgun, two revolvers, more than 500 rounds of ammunition, an off-road motorcycle and more than $20,000 worth of gold.

Six people are now facing 34 charges, all of whom are due to face court between early September and mid-October.
