GOLDEN – Less than a week after the murder of their friend, hundreds of bikers showed up for a memorial ride and celebration for Mark “Munky” Berman.
Berman was shot and killed near his home in Denver last Sunday. He was very popular in the biker community, known for his willingness to help other bikers when they needed it most.
“There were many times we were knocking on his house door saying, ‘Hey monkey, it’s 3 a.m., we need to get a biker home’ from either a local biker bar or they broke down, and he would put his clothes on,” friend Laurie Montoya said. “He was somebody you went to when needed most.”
The man arrested in the killing, Alberto Calcurian, is currently being held in jail without bond and has a status conference on Friday.
