The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is an American motorcycle rally that is held every year in Sturgis, South Dakota. Held for ten days, it usually begins the first Friday in August. Just a few years ago in 2015, Sturgis officially expanded the dates to host the rally starts the Friday before the first full week of August. If you’re wondering what it might be like, check out these crazy pics from biker rallies.

In 2016, the city of Sturgis created a regulation that the Rally begins on the first Friday in August every year. Originally created in 1983 by a group of Indian Motorcycle riders, it was designed to showcase stunts and races. Curious as to the real story behind the Indian Motorcycle Company? Check this out. With an attendance of generally over 500,000 people, it has reached over 700,000 people in some years.

  1. Very possible we won’t be able to have Sturgis this year.
The City of Sturgis would be a ghost town without us. 95% of their income comes from us.
They’re using this opportunity to annex the property of the Jackpine Gypsies, the original event holders who’ve been there since the 1930’s. Fucked up isn’t it?
The city’s next move will be Eminent Domain. They zdx’ve already got some bullshit reason for this already planned and in the works.
Tomorrow morning my phone will be busy as shit making calls to the City of Sturgis, the largest newspaper in that part of the State, Media outlets, etc.
Of course I will also be calling the Club I have loyalty to.
Recommend you all do the same.
This is completely wrong and the city is going after some additional property as well.
    Opportunistic bastards.
We need to use our power to try to stop this government land grab.
I know that I won’t be at Sturgis this year or any other if this actually happens.

Now let’s get back to talking bikes!
