ENFIELD, CT — State Police Tuesday searched a property on Moody Road in Enfield as part of an investigation into a summertime homicide case.

Authorities were seen in force at the 33 Moody Road property beginning Tuesday morning. There was still a heavy police presence into the early evening hours at the property. At 6 p.m., three law enforcement vehicles were parked in or near the driveway of 33 Moody Road and seven others were across the street on the lawn of the Enfield Department of Public Works.

State police said they believe the location is connected to the death of 38-year-old James Comes. The Moody Road property and the case are also directly connected to what authorities are referring to as “a known motorcycle club.”

Comes was found dead inside a car located in a field off Durkee Road in Somers on Aug. 5. His death was subsequently ruled a homicide.

Enfield Police Chief Alaric Fox said the search was strictly a state police operation. The Outlaws motorcycle club is headquartered locally on Moody Road. The property is surrounded by a chain link fence and features a 682-square-foot single-family home with a detached garage adorned with the Outlaws logo.
