KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Officials with the Knoxville Police Department confirmed that Friday’s Fountain City shooting was sparked by a fight between two biker gangs.
The shooting happened at Hatmaker’s Bar & Grill around 9:45 p.m., according to KPD’s Scott Erland. “A fight broke out in the parking lot of Hatmaker’s and shots were fired, resulting in the death of a member of the Outlaw Motorcycle Club and a member of the Pagans Motorcycle Club, two outlaw motorcycle gangs,” Erland said.
Two others, a member of the Outlaws and a member of the Pagans, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Another man with an unknown affiliation also drove to the Claiborne Medical Center with a gunshot wound, Erland said.
“The victim reportedly fled the scene and drove to the Claiborne Medical Center for treatment. He was airlifted to the UT Medical Center for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries,” Erland said.
