A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash near the A46 involving a car – and the driver left the scene before police arrived. The biker suffered a broken collarbone, broken ribs and a fracture to his neck, during the crash at the Hobby Horse roundabout, Syston.
The hit-and-run, on Sunday, July 3, happened as the rider, who was a man in his 30s, was travelling north on the A46 towards Newark. He had just driven past the roundabout when his bike and the car – believed to be a Jaguar or Mercedes – collided shortly before 6.30pm.
The driver was said to have remained at the scene for a “short time”, but left before officers arrived. Leicestershire Police are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
