A prominent social media motorcycle influencer in Rhode Island is under intense scrutiny after state police linked his online content to a pattern of dangerous driving behaviors. Ahmed T. Al Gburi, 28, of East Providence, was arrested following an extensive investigation into videos posted under the username “blackhornet1,” which allegedly show high-speed stunts and traffic violations across local highways.

Rhode Island State Police announced the charges on June 15, 2026, highlighting how Al Gburi’s content glorified extreme riding practices. According to authorities, the influencer regularly shared footage of himself navigating heavy traffic at speeds well over 100 mph, weaving aggressively between vehicles on interstates and other major routes in Rhode Island and nearby states. These videos, which helped build the case, reportedly captured maneuvers that endangered other motorists and violated numerous traffic laws.

The charges against Al Gburi are substantial: 29 counts of reckless driving, three counts of eluding law enforcement during high-speed pursuits, three counts of street racing, and four counts involving prohibited large-capacity feeding devices. State Police Superintendent Col. Darnell Weaver described the situation strongly, noting that the suspect had been “terrorizing our highways for months” while broadcasting these actions to a large audience.

Al Gburi’s online presence is significant. As of the arrest, his accounts across Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook had amassed more than 1.2 million followers combined. His Instagram alone boasted over 335,000 followers, with YouTube subscribers nearing 284,000 and Facebook adding another 645,000. The content focused on high-adrenaline motorcycle rides, often featuring the rider’s helmet-obscured identity, which initially complicated identification efforts for investigators.

Public reaction to the news has been swift and divided. Many local drivers expressed relief and support for the police action, citing personal experiences with similar reckless behavior on busy routes like Interstate 95. One resident told reporters it was “disgusting and scary,” especially for daily commuters who frequently encounter such risks. Others echoed concerns about the potential for serious harm or fatalities, not only to the rider but to innocent bystanders sharing the road.

At the same time, the case raises broader questions about the role of social media in encouraging dangerous stunts. Influencers in the motorcycle community often chase views and engagement by pushing limits, but incidents like this underscore the real-world consequences. Law enforcement agencies across the country have increasingly monitored online platforms for evidence of illegal activity, using publicly posted videos as key components in building cases.

Al Gburi was arraigned in Third Division District Court on June 11 and released on bail with conditions, including home confinement. A follow-up hearing is scheduled for June 24. Attempts by media to reach him for comment at his residence and by phone resulted in limited responses, with the call ending abruptly.

This arrest serves as a cautionary tale for content creators in the motorcycle and influencer spaces. While sharing riding adventures can build community and showcase passion for two-wheeled freedom, crossing into illegal and life-threatening territory carries heavy legal repercussions. Rhode Island State Police emphasized their commitment to roadway safety and holding accountable those who put others at risk for online fame.

For the wider motorcycle community, the story highlights the importance of responsible riding and the distinction between enthusiastic group rides and solo exhibitions of speed and agility that disregard traffic laws. Many clubs and organizations actively promote safety training, helmet use, and respect for shared roads to counter negative perceptions fueled by high-profile cases.

As the legal proceedings move forward, the case will likely continue to draw attention from both supporters of strict enforcement and those in the riding community watching how courts handle social media evidence. In the meantime, authorities urge motorists to report suspicious or dangerous driving and remind everyone that the thrill of the ride should never come at the expense of public safety.

Highway safety advocates hope this incident prompts greater awareness and self-regulation among riders and content creators alike. With summer riding season in full swing, the focus remains on preventing tragedies through education, enforcement, and community standards that prioritize safety over spectacle.
