Snowflakes not happy with Harley Davidson- Do I see mass protest erupting? Only time will tell – Should we worry?

Harley Davidson has been under some tough times. Motorcycle sales have been hitting rock bottom, one of the reasons why Harley Davidson decided to scrap the Kansas plant and put over 800 people out of work. If that wasn’t bad enough, Harley Davidson is introducing it’s “Livewire” line in 2020. The “Livewire” is the first production electric bike Harley will put on the market. Then comes this, in 2016 Harley Davidson agreed to a  $12 million civil fine and stop selling illegal after-market devices that caused its vehicles to emit too much pollution, and spend about $3 million to retrofit or replace wood-burning appliances with cleaner stoves.

Ok, I usually try to stay away from the political stuff in my posts, that stuff is reserved for the “Biker Angle” which starts March 1st on our Youtube Channel ( Yeah, had to get a plug in lol ). But this is downright stupid shit right here (I’ll get to global warming in a sec), all the states that are against the fines of 3 million being dropped against Harley Davidson are the snowflake capitals of the hoax of Global Warming. It’s not like Harley Davidson isn’t having a hard enough time, but god forbid they don’t retrofit or replace some wood burning stoves.

Global Warming has become a tool for the left to hurt business and growth. They use all this voodoo science to say the world is coming to an end. The left has no desire to help the blue collar working man, only to destroy them so they become dependent on them. They tried it with Coal, and now they are going after companies like Harley Davidson that is an American Icon of the Blue Collar Working Man.

Here’s the thing about Global Warming folks. The earth has been undergoing a cycle of change since it’s inception. Ask yourself, Why has ancient animals such as the “Mammoth” been found as far north as the Artic Circle? Not to mention plant fossils that could never have existed in a cold weather environment? Or Antartica, once a tropical paradise that is now the coldest place on earth? Simple, the earth goes through cycles.

For the left to use the scare tactics backed up by Voodoo science to harm companies that employ hard working Americans is a disgrace. Hopefully the appeal will be lost, this of course will depend on what part of the country that it is filed in. As we have seen time and time again, judges no longer follow the law. They make it, and that right there is something every American should fear, regardless of political party.

 

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Ten U.S. states and the District of Columbia said Thursday they are challenging a decision by the Trump administration to drop a requirement that Harley-Davidson Inc (HOG.N) spend $3 million to reduce air pollution under settlement the Obama administration announced.

In 2016, the Milwaukee-based motorcycle manufacturer agreed to pay a $12 million civil fine and stop selling illegal after-market devices that caused its vehicles to emit too much pollution, and spend about $3 million to retrofit or replace wood-burning appliances with cleaner stoves.

The Justice Department in July cited a new policy by U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions and an ongoing review of the penalty by a government auditor in proposing to drop the $3 million penalty from the settlement. Reuters first reported the planned reduction.

U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan must still decide whether to approve the revised agreement.

The Harley-Davidson settlement resolved allegations that Harley sold about 340,000 “super tuners” enabling motorcycles since 2008 to pollute the air at levels greater than what the company certified. Harley-Davidson did not admit liability, and said previously it disagreed with the government, arguing that the tuners were designed and sold to be used in “competition only.”

Vermont Attorney General T.J. Donovan, joined by Massachusetts, New York, Washington State and others, said Sessions’ new policy “does not apply to projects like the wood stove mitigation project that directly remedies the harm caused by pollutants emitted by the non-compliant Harley-Davidson motorcycles.”

The states and the Obama administration said the $3 million wood stove mitigation project would offset additional air pollution caused by the motorcycles’ emissions of excess hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides.

The Harley-Davidson settlement came amid greater scrutiny on emissions and “defeat devices” by U.S. regulators after Volkswagen AG (VOWG_p.DE) admitted to using illegal software to evade U.S. emissions standards in nearly 600,000 U.S. vehicles in September 2015.

The Natural Resources Defense Council also asked the judge to reject the removal of the $3 million mitigation project, saying it “is not reasonable because it does not adequately protect the environment and does not sufficiently compensate the public.”

The Environmental Protection Agency and Harley did not immediately comment Thursday.
