A female state correctional officer knowingly passed on sensitive personal information to the Hells Angels outlaw motorcycle gang, a judge has ruled.
Kim Marie Graham twice passed on information on the request of Colin Andrew James Weetra.
Graham, whose role had a specific focus on support for Aboriginal prisoners and their families, had access to all of the prison records held on the department’s databases.
Investigations revealed that in March 2017, Graham accessed the database to provide Mr Weetra with information about non-Aboriginal inmates not connected to her work.
Less than a month later, Weetra made a request for information about a person and Graham’s daughter texted the name to her mother.
She accessed the private file and sent Weetra a text message containing the address of the person identified.
Graham last year pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to act honestly in the performance of her duties as a public sector employee, while Weetra pleaded guilty to two counts of aiding and abetting.
