In most prisons and jails, there is an unspoken hierarchy within the prisoners that is based on the type of crimes they’ve been jailed for. As to be expected, rapists and child molesters are at the bottom of the totem pole because even amongst a group of thieves, drug users, and drunks, harming a child in such a horrible way is considered unforgivable. Usually, people who have committed these offenses get picked on or shunned by their fellow inmates and a lot of times, have to be put in solitary confinement for their own safety. Here, one man accused of raping a ten-year-old girl was tattooed against his will with a chilling message by a fellow inmate who felt like he deserved to be punished.
Murder. Anthony Ray Stockelman was among some of the men who were arrested in connection with the murder of ten-year-old Katie Collman. Collman was raped and killed after police say she accidentally witnessed people using and making methamphetamine.
Kidnapping. Katie was kidnapped after those manufacturing the drugs feared she would talk to police. She was raped, tied up, and thrown into a river, where her body was discovered. Stockelman was one of the people who ended up being arrested and was the man responsible for raping the child.

Sentencing. Stockelman was sentenced to life in prison for his crimes, but his fellow inmates at Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Indiana, did not think that was punishment enough. Among those inmates was 22-year-old Jared Harris, who just so happened to be a distant cousin of Katie’s, and knew what Stockelman had done.
Attack. According to CBS News, Harris threatened Stockelman’s life on more than one occasion, but eventually one evening, Harris snuck into Stockelman’s prison cell with another inmate and locked the cell. Harris reportedly gave Stockleman two options— death or a tattoo.
Revenge. “I’m either gonna stick you and leave you bleeding or I’m gonna tattoo you,” Harris told Stockelman. Obviously, Stockelman chose the latter. Harris proceeded to tattoo Stockelman with a makeshift tattoo gun, writing “KATIE’S REVENGE,” on Stockelman’s forehead.
Consequences. When prison staff discovered what had happened, they removed Stockelman from general population and placed him in a secluded part of the prison. As a result, Harris was also charged with battery, on top of the charge he already had for robbery.
Inmates. John Neace, Katie’s father said “If I had to guess, I’d say it’s a statement from the inmates,” although it is unclear whether or not he knew Harris had anything to do with the attack on Stockelman. It’s safe to say that Stockelman won’t soon forget the terrible actions that landed him in prison.
Justice. This isn’t the first time that inmates have banded together in order to “serve justice” to fellow inmates whom they feel deserve more of a punishment than just prison. In 2014, a Brazilian man named Daryell Dickson Menenzes Xavier was stabbed and raped twice by inmates after word got out that he’d raped his one-year-old stepson.
Death. Xavier’s stepson died in the hospital due to his injuries, and Xavier eventually turned himself in, claiming it was “Satan” who made him do such an unspeakable crime. The first time Xavier was raped by over 20 inmates, he had to get stitches on his anus due to the extremity of his injuries.
Others. However the second time around, inmates tore through Xavier’s stitches and assaulted him again. In 2012, Mitchell Harrison was serving time in prison after he was found guilty of the rape and murder of a 13-year-old girl, but was killed by fellow inmates.
Murder. Harrison was attacked by inmates who used razor blades and shanks to stab and disembowel him. “To all intents and purposes he had been disemboweled. There was blood everywhere,” said a source of the prison, as reported by the Daily Mail UK.
Critics. Michael Parr was found responsible for the murder, among with another inmate named Nathan Mann. Although some think that Harrison’s murder was justified, others have criticized the prison in which Harrison was being held.
Protection. ”The question is how can something like this take place in Frankland and why didn’t the staff protect him?” said criminology expert, Professor David Wilson, as reported by the Daily Mail UK.
History. However, Harrison had a history of being a pedophile and had been in trouble with the law previously for being inappropriate with a seven-year-old and a 15-year-old.

Unfortunately, the tattoo was removed at expense of the state. It took place in Jackson County Jail about a decade ago. Sad they didn’t just off the bugger.
