Two people, one of which is an alleged full patch Hells Angels member, are facing numerous firearms related offences after Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officers found 12 illegal handguns at an Ottawa residence.

In a release, the RCMP said the search of the home in Ottawa was done in February of 2022 in support of an international organized crime investigation led by the Winnipeg RCMP.

The RCMP said the illegal handguns were imported from the United States, and were to be used for “personal protection and distributed into the hands of criminal organization members in Canada.”

“These types of firearms continue to be in high demand on the streets,” the RCMP said.

The RCMP said officers found a number of prohibited high-capacity magazines, ammunition, and a device used to convert a semi-automatic pistol to fully automatic, adding many of the firearms were loaded.

One of the accused people is Damion Patrick Ryan, 41, a full patch member of the Hells Angels with the Attica chapter in Greece. He was arrested in Ottawa and will appear in court on Feb. 15.

A second person, Azra Ivziku, 28, who is also facing charges was not arrested. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Ivziku.
